Attune Privacy Policy

What we collect and how

• Account details, collected when you sign up: your email address and display name. If you use Sign in with Apple, we receive the name and email you choose to share and do not ask you for them again.
• Content you create in the app, collected as you type or record it: messages to Sage, daily question answers, mood check-ins and their notes, private journal entries (typed or dictated), quiz results, shared memories, important dates, and any photo or screenshot you attach.
• Relationship profile, collected during onboarding: attachment style, love language, conflict style and relationship goals.
• Subscription status, received from Apple when you purchase. We never receive or store your payment card details.
• Basic technical data needed to run the service, such as authentication tokens and error logs.

How your content is used

• To provide the app: syncing between you and your partner, showing your history, and generating Sage's responses.
• To keep you safe: messages are checked for crisis language so we can show you real help resources instead of an AI reply.
• We never sell your data. We never show ads. We do not use your content for advertising or profiling.

Third-party AI processing

Who receives your data. Sage is powered by Anthropic, PBC (United States) through the Claude API. Anthropic is the only AI provider we use.

What we send them. Only what is needed to answer you: the messages in the session you are in, any screenshot or photo you attach to that session, journal entries that are on screen when you tap Ask Sage, your first name, your relationship profile answers, and your daily answers and mood check-ins from the previous seven days.

What we never send them. Your password, your email address, your payment details, and any journal entry you have not asked Sage about.

Your permission comes first. Nothing is sent to Anthropic until you have read an in-app screen describing this and explicitly agreed. That agreement is enforced on our servers, not only in the app, so AI requests are refused until it exists. You can withdraw permission at any time in Profile, then Privacy. Withdrawing turns Sage off and leaves the rest of Attune working.

Their protections. Anthropic processes this content solely to generate a response, does not use it to train their models, and is contractually bound under their commercial terms to protections equivalent to those described in this policy.

Avatars. Profile portraits are generated by DiceBear. We send only an anonymous hash, never your name or any other personal detail.

Privacy between partners

Private things stay private. Your private journal, your one-on-one sessions with Sage, and unshared quiz answers are never visible to your partner. Only content marked as shared (daily reveals, shared memories, shared summaries) is visible to both of you. These rules are enforced at the database level.

Storage and security

Data is stored with Supabase (Postgres) with row-level security and encryption in transit. Uploaded images live in private storage accessible only to your couple.

Your controls

• Delete any journal entry, memory, or Sage memory at any time in the app.
• Unpair from your partner at any time (Profile, couple settings).
• Delete your entire account in Profile, Account, Delete account. This permanently removes your data.

Payments

Subscriptions are processed by Apple. We never see your payment details.

Children

Attune is for adults and is rated 17+. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

Data deletion

You can delete your account and all associated content from inside the app: Profile, then Account, then Delete account. This removes your profile, messages, journal entries, answers and uploads from our systems.
